  • Tip # 1 - Clean the Condenser Coils
Dust and dirt can accumulate on the condenser coils, reducing cooling efficiency. Clean the coils (located at the back or bottom of the fridge) every 6 months with a vacuum or brush to improve airflow and performance.
  • Tip # 2 - Check and Replace Door Seals
Ensure the rubber gasket around the door is clean and seals tightly. A worn or dirty gasket allows cold air to escape, making the fridge work harder. Clean it with soap and water, and replace it if you notice cracks or looseness.
  • Tip # 3 - Set the Correct Temperature:
Keep your refrigerator at around 37°F (3°C) and the freezer at 0°F (-18°C). These are optimal temperatures for food preservation and energy efficiency. Use a thermometer to check if necessary.
  • Tip #4 – Use a deodorizer to remove odors
To keep your refrigerator smelling fresh, place a specially designed refrigerator deodorizer inside the unit. It will eliminate food odours for up to six months.
  • Tip #5 – Defrost the Freezer
Most freezers today have an automatic defrost function. However, if your freezer is old and doesn't have an automatic defrost function, manually defrost it when the ice buildup exceeds 1/4 inch by shutting power off and letting the ice melt for 24 hours or more. Never use an ice pick as the evaporator coils can easy get damaged.
